Our purpose is to inspire hope, maximize quality and extend duration of life by using the latest and most innovative scientific information available.
Although there are many pharmacies and health food stores in the area, all are product oriented. Although we sell compounded prescriptions as well as supplements and herbal products, our main product is science based knowledge used to educate and inform patients. Whether it is by working with other health care professionals to customize prescription medication or suggesting an appropriate supplement, we are known as the problem solvers.
We utilize “one on one” consultations to assist our patients choice, not only for best medical treatment, but also the supplements which best meet their needs. By doing this we utilize our experience to meet our patient’s desire for scientifically based medical information. This educational process also includes regular seminars on a variety of topics of interest to our patients needs.
We also seek positive therapeutic outcomes for patients with unique needs through the provision of medications that have been specifically formulated and prepared by the compounding pharmacist. This is accomplished through the identification and solution of problems faced by the patient and physician which are associated with the provision of the correct medication in the correct strength with the correct dosage form.
By doing these things, Wellspring Custom Pharmacy will provide optimal medical and pharmaceutical care by providing customized medication and nutritional supplements to improve the patient’s quality of life.
Since the origin of the profession of pharmacy centuries ago, the traditional role of the pharmacist has been the preparation of medicines in final dosage form. Pharmacists are among the most respected healthcare professionals and patients have long valued their advice and expertise.
In the years following World War II commercial manufacturers began the manufacture and marketing of medicines in final dosage form. Today, about one percent of the four to five billion prescriptions dispensed annually require compounding by a pharmacist.
Over the last decade there has been a resurgence in the compounding role of the pharmacist. Commercial medications that are no longer available or in short supply, specific strengths that are not commercially available, and required dosage forms that are not available from manufacturers have made compounding pharmacies a necessity to fill patient needs.
With 1,700 deaths per day due to heart disease, 1,600 deaths due to cancer per day, 50 percent of Americans with digestive disorders, and an increasing amount of patients complaining of significant allergies, is it any wonder that Americans are concerned about their health? We work with these patients as well as those with chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, hormone imbalance, thyroid disorders, bone loss, ADHD and ADD, sports injuries, arthritis, chronic pain, and a variety of other conditions. With 50,000 baby boomers turning 60 every day, most of whom are serious about improving their health, the education and guidance that we can provide becomes increasingly important.
With half of the American population using at least one type of alternative medical therapy, we are able to help the patient decide which combination of traditional and alternative is best to meet their needs. We help gather the information from their other medical providers and develop a “road map” to better health.
